Self-guide.
ACTIVITIES
Mountain Biking – Explore the miles of tracks
and gravel roads in this huge area of forest, spreading over some
stunning hills and rugged mountain scenery. The views from the top
can be spectacular and all grades of riding are catered for using
modern mountain bikes. Your guide will mix the course and routes
to suit the group and everyone will be encouraged to try the first
single-track section, making their way down the exciting path, crossing
streams and weaving through the trees. Further single-track choices
are available for the more advanced riders, but there is so much
choice and we will always finish with a gentle circuit of a peaceful
hidden lake.
Walking – It's time to explore the hills
and mountains on foot with a great walk. Our favourite route takes
in a mix of open moorland, hills and tumbling river gorges and gives
great views across to Mount Snowdon - the tallest mountain in England
and Wales. The views from the top are stunning with Lynn Dinas and
the mountains behind and when we reach the top we can see the sea
and the Welsh coast. You'll pass by a refreshing waterfall (shower
optional!) before dropping down into the woodland and round into
the gorge. Then return to the village and the welcoming inn for
a well-earned drink and sit down.
Horse
Trekking – A driving route will show us more of
the great features and scenery that make this National Park so
special before we arrive at the stables from where we start our
2-hour horse trekking session. Suitable for all levels of rider,
the route will take us up into the hills and (weather permitting)
up onto the high mountains. The entire route is off road and consists
of a circular loop, making for interesting and fun riding conditions.
Although it depends on the group, there is nearly always the chance
for good riders to break loose, canter and have some fun!!

THE BUNKHOUSE ACCOMMODATION
The Bunkhouse provides a comfortable level of accommodation for
groups with multi-share rooms each with their own en-suite toilet
and shower rooms. The traditional Welsh stone barns have been
carefully converted to provide spacious accommodation, and the
patio area is perfect for unwinding in, and the new Barbeque house
is a great feature which proves popular with all of our groups!
It
is centrally heated throughout and all bedding is provided in
clean, wide and stable bunk beds (towels not provided). There
are 4 sleeping rooms, with a total capacity of 28 - in rooms of
4, 6, 8 and 10.
There
is a large, fully-equipped kitchen - where we provide breakfast
and dinner - and other facilities include a drying room, gardens
and the barbeque house which we use to enjoy an open fire in the
specially designed and very sociable little chalet - the perfect
venue for a few drinks at the end of a hard day of activities!
